River Boat Ride to Chinatown

Jun. 28th, 2010

We took the river boat taxi down to Chinatown in Bangkok, it’s crazy how Chinatowns in every city are somewhat similar. One thing they have in abundance is Shark Fin Soup, which is quite the delicacy but not ecologically sound, so we didn’t get any. Check out the photos below, including the little flower boy with the knock off Louis Vuitton bag.

bangkok has been amazing so say the least. yesterday we went to the grand palace and to the reclining buddah. we both thought we were dressed appropriatly; however, we both ended up having to rent clothes, lauren a shirt and zach pants. it was so hot, but a must do.

last night we had a lovey dinner on the river and then went to a muay thai boxing match. we ended up sitting ring side and met two lovely english blokes. the benefits of sitting ring side not only included amazing views but we were able to go in the back where the boxers were and take photos (will be coming soon!) after the match we got a few drinks at a random family owned thai bar that had karaoke. we were the only westerners. we tried to sing billy jean but since the ‘karoke’ machine froze (it was a computer that looked like it was from the early 90s) zach ended up saving us all by freestyling about thailand and chang beer. we were all friends after that.

today has been laid back. we are currently sitting in a coffee shop using the ipad the menu was on to update our blog.

much love, zach and lauren
